Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for directing the flow of materials to maintain the balance between operational needs, good business practices/corporate policies, maintenance of inventory and proper warehouse and transportation utilization. Provides leadership to Supply Chain organization ensuring the department operations run effectively and works with business partner leadership teams to ensure all objectives and goals are met or exceeded. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for procurement: creating and tracking purchase orders, alerting operations when orders have been filled and approving invoices from suppliers. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for warehouse and logistics: inventory management, execution of current logistics and future growth.
This position will report directly to the Director of Finance and has supervisory responsibilities.

    • Develop, motivate and empower the Supply Chain organization and others to think and perform beyond current levels and strive for continuous improvement
    • Effectively analyze and identify risks affecting supply, transportation, delivery and client demand. Work with peers to develop strategies to mitigate risks identified
    • Understand and apply knowledge of system applications for completing work in an effective and efficient manner. Initiate process improvements that are enabled and supported by technology
  • Procurement
    • Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all purchase orders
    • Work with the project team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
    • Coordinate communication between Engineering, Operations, Warehouse, and Suppliers
    • Evaluate bids, select and recommend suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, quality, service and terms and conditions
    • Read/understand Purchase Orders and Terms & Conditions
    • Comply with corporate policies and procedures and underlying federal, state and/or local regulations concerning the purchase of shipment of goods, materials and services
    • Negotiates favorable pricing, payment terms, and schedules
  • Warehouse and Logistics
    • Lead the shipping and receiving operations area which includes accurate inventory counts, quality control of returned materials, record keeping of damaged or defective items, and transportation management
    • Develop and implement effective and cost-effective material and inventory reduction targets that deliver bottom line financial results while ensuring product delivery to meet client needs
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong professional relationships with our internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated professional writing skills with the ability to craft tactful communications with employees
  • Work with fellow company leaders to meet business objectives and push continuous improvement
  • Identify performance gaps and implement improvement measures such as coaching, internal and/or outside training, goal setting, etc.
  • Maintain data integrity of company software systems
  • Assumes other related duties as required or assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum five years of progressively increasing responsibilities in Supply Chain management or related areas of purchasing, planning, forecasting, shipping and receiving, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate’s degree or a minimum eight years of progressively increasing responsibility in Supply Chain management or related areas of purchasing, planning, forecasting, shipping and receiving, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring a team preferred
  • High level of knowledge and understanding of the entire Supply Chain process, including Procurement, Shipping and Receiving, and Customer Service
  • Experience in collecting and reporting Supply Chain KPI’s and metrics
  • Understanding of basic accounting practices and procedures
  • Well organized, accurate and attentive to detail
  • Strong time management, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), accounting software and other common programs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
